Pakistan is ranked 45th out of 52 countries in the World Internet Development Index, according to a new report that was unveiled at the 2023 World Internet Conference.
This index uses six criteria—technology infrastructure, innovation, digital economy, online governance, cybersecurity, and global cyberspace management—to assess a nation’s online performance. In these six categories, Pakistan’s rankings are 47th, 43rd, 42nd, 45th, 45th, and 40th.
According to China Economic Net, Pakistan was featured in this study for the first time, along with four other nations.
According to the World Internet Development Index, the United States, China, Singapore, the Netherlands, and South Korea are the top five nations performing the best.
Since 2017, the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies has been producing this annual report. It discusses global internet developments, including obstacles and achievements that have occurred this year.
