December’s LPG Rates Surge by Rs. 45.18 per Cylinder

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of local liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs. 3.82 per kg, leading to a rise of Rs. 45.18 in the cost of the 11.8 kg household cylinder for December. According to OGRA’s notification, the price of LPG for December is set at Rs. 255 per kg, compared to Rs. 251 in November. Consequently, the 11.8 kg cylinder price is now Rs. 3,097.35 for December, compared to Rs. 2,962.17 in November. OGRA stated that it has determined the new maximum LPG price effective December 1, 2023, as per the federal government’s policy guidelines. The regulator mentioned that the LPG producer price is linked to Saudi Aramco-CP and the US dollar exchange rate. While Saudi Aramco-CP remained unchanged from the previous month, the average dollar exchange rate increased by 1.87 percent, resulting in a rise in the LPG consumer price.
