Introduction

Travelling has always been my passion, and it started when I was fifteen. I have visited more than 10 countries in the last 10 years.

During my travels, I have seen numerous famous tourist spots. However, the Basho Valley in Skardu, Pakistan, stands out as the most captivating. This valley is small in size but incredibly stunning in its beauty. Tiny, breathtaking valley.

About Basho Valley

Going to the valley takes you back in time. The entrance has a wooden bridge called Basho Bridge that tourists must cross. It’s very old, and it shakes a lot when you walk over it. You must slow down your pace on that bridge to avoid any harm.

The valley in northern Pakistan has temperatures ranging from 10°C to 15°C during the day. However, it gets cold at night.

The stunning mountain range in your sight will mesmerise you once you arrive at this well-known location. You will have a sight to behold of how lush the green valley looks. You might go through Alpine forests in the valley that may make you feel like heaven.

One of the unique things that you guys will explore there is the Chocolate Rock. A rock has a dark brown coating that is a result of the iron in the area. You might get exhausted roaming around the valley, so there is a basho waterfall spot as well that may help cool you down.

There are several rivers and streams that require caution, such as the Indus River. However, the most popular one among tourists is the water that flows from snowy mountains.

One of the adorable things you will see here is the Basho Meadows. The residents of the nearby villages depend on these meadows for grazing their cattle, which is a source of food for them. You may want a camera at that moment to capture how beautiful nature is.

The valley offers some historical significance around it. Basho Fort, built in the 16th century, is an important Pakistani cultural symbol due to its strong historical presence. You can explore the fort and gain a lot of knowledge regarding the connection of ancient times with the valley.

The valley also has a Hydro Power Plant, which lies 45km downstream of Skardu town. It’s in the Basho Lungma area, a left branch of the Indus River.

One of the unique features of the valley is that you might see some snow leopards roaming around the valley. Don’t worry. They will be under extreme supervision so that people can enjoy some wildlife and beauty as well.
